We had the privilege of capturing memories for the celebration of Neal and Bethaney’s engagement at Cheekwood. We all had a fun time. The joy we saw from Neal and Bethaney was not only because of their love for each other but because God had brought these two together. Marriage is based on a growing love relationship with Jesus Christ and a growing love relationship with your spouse based on scriptural truths. Neal and Bethaney express this love relationship through each other. Their love for each other made the session easy and it was a delight to photograph two souls committed to the promise of forever.

INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE

The institution of marriage was created by God. Genesis 2:18,21-24 (ESV)

18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Love doesn’t give up, when it is dependent on God. We’ve got to allow God to make us healthy and whole emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually, as the first step in finding true love. It is very obvious that Neal and Bethaney follow this path to their love.

Marriage is not mainly about prospering economically, but rather about displaying the covenant-keeping love between Christ and His church.

COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP

Knowing Christ is more important than making a living. Treasuring Christ is more important than bearing children. Marriage is about treasuring and knowing one another in a committed relationship.
It may have many bright days, or it may be covered with clouds, but if we set our face to make of marriage mainly what God has designed it to be, no sorrows and no calamity can stand in our way. Every one of them will be not an obstacle to success, but a way to succeed.

All of us at Robert Martin Photography wish Neal and Bethaney many happy and joyful days ahead.  We are looking forward to celebrating their marriage on October 2, 2016.  May God bless them!
